Festival Information
GENERAL INFORMATION
OVERVIEW: The event will feature live bands, flow arts performances, a DJ, and and a tribute area for our fallen loved ones. While we hope to one day grow this into a larger-scale public festival, for this inaugural year, it will remain a private invite-only event. Invites will be sent through a Facebook event page and text messages.
DATE AND TIME: August 24th, 2024 from 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm (after-party to follow)
LOCATION: This year's event will be held at a private residence that has an indoor and an outdoor stage. The venue is located in Stone Mountain Village and the exact address will be provided a few days before the event to all of those who have RSVP'd.
PARKING: Onsite parking during the event will be restricted to bands, flow performers, the residents/hosts, and volunteers. All attendees MUST park on San Pablo Drive and walk to the end of the street and around the corner to the festival site. Those needing to park their vehicle overnight will need to pull onto the property after the event. Please ask a host or volunteer for assistance with this.
FOOD & BEVERAGES: We may have a friend bring his catering trailer and sell BBQ and hot dog plates. Otherwise, all food and beverages (alcoholic and non) are BYOB/BYOF.
TICKETS: The inaugural event will be free, but we are asking for donations to pay the bands and for production costs. Advance donations really help, and can be submitted through our Tickets & Donations Page.
FAQS
- Q: Is this an all ages event?
- A: Yes! The daytime portion of the event is open to all ages. Beginning at 8 pm, we ask for our friends under 18 years old to depart as we transition to a more adult oriented party for the headliners and the after-party.
- Q: Are pets allowed?
- A: Yes and no. Of course service animals are allowed for those that need them. Pet dogs and ESAs may be considered, but we ask that you leave them at home if possible. The event involves loud music and noises, stunts using live fire, and a lot of people moving about, so for their safety and all of ours, this is for the best. If you have a furry friend that is trained and both people friendly and friendly with other dogs - and you cannot make other arrangements for them - please contact us for permission to bring them.
- Q: Is the event handicap accessible?
- A: Unfortunately, this year's event has very limited handicapped accessibility. Those in wheelchairs may be able to access the indoor stage with assistance, but will not be able to access the indoor restroom or the outdoor stage area. Those that use a cane or walker should be able to reach the indoor and outdoor stages with assistance, but may struggle to access the indoor restroom. We apologize for this inconvenience, and vow to make all stages and facilities much more accessible moving forward.
- Q: Will there be chairs/seating available?
- A: There will be a couple of dozen camp and folding chairs at the outdoor stage for use on a first come-first serve basis. There are a couple of couches at the indoor stage, but the rest is standing-room only. We recommend bringing a blanket or small camp chair to guarantee yourself a place to sit.
- Q: Is smoking/vaping allowed?
- A: Yes, but during the all ages portion of the event, it will be limited to a couple of designated areas outdoors. Please respect the youngsters and non-smokers by utilizing these areas. After 8 pm, smoking is allowed anywhere in the outdoors space, but please step away from non-smokers and ALWAYS properly dispose of your butts. At NO TIME is smoking or vaping of ANY KIND allowed indoors.
- Q: Are there overnight accommodations available?
- A: There are a few hotels about 5 miles away near the Stone Mountain Park main gate if you are seeking comfort, and of course the two hotels and campground inside of the park itself. We will also have a handful of campsites available at the event site. If anyone needs to camp, please contact us and we will hold a spot for you (while they last!).
- Q: Can I leave my vehicle overnight and/or sleep in my vehicle?
- A: Absolutely! We don't condone drinking and driving, and we encourage anyone that has been drinking to either Uber or get a ride home and come back for their car the next day - or sleep in their vehicle until they feel safe enough to drive. Cars parked overnight CANNOT be left on San Pablo Drive, so please talk to a host or volunteer about where to move your car to before leaving it or sleeping in it.
- Q: I want to attend this years event but didn't get invited. How do I get an invite?
- A: Until we expand into a public event, we unfortunately have to limit our numbers. That being said, we want everyone to feel welcome. So if you would like to attend, please contact us and we will send you an invitation.
- Q: I was invited to this years event and I want to bring a +1 (or more). Is that allowed?
- A: Yes, but please limit your guests to a few people that you know and trust. You will be held responsible for the actions and behavior of any guests that you bring.
- Q: How do I submit pictures to have my fallen loved one included on the website and the tribute wall at the event?
- A: We are trying to add a way to allow you to directly upload photos and information to the website. In the meantime, please send up to 10 photos, the full name of the deceased, and their birth and death dates to festavita.info@gmail.com
